About Bob Skinstad
Bob Skinstad is a fierce practitioner of The 80/20 Mindset, and has used it to succeed in sport and business – transitioning from being an ex-Springbok Rugby Captain to a highly successful entrepreneur, business personality and speaker.
Bob’s 80/20 journey started years ago, when he was still playing rugby for the South African national team, the Springboks.
His belief in the 80/20 Mindset led him to being selected for the 2007 Rugby World Cup squad, a team that won the Webb Ellis Cup that year.
Before he became a World Cup Champion, Bob worked steadily at achieving leaderships roles – starting out in the Western Province team which he Captained during the Currie Cup and Super 12 tournaments.
Moving from one tight-knit team to another, he learnt to be a catalyst for team culture and growth, which eventually won him the green and gold jersey.
He took semi-retirement in the UK several years later, playing for club teams like the Newport Gwent Dragons and the Barbarians.
As his rugby days came to an end, Bob struck out into the business world, starting a sports management company ‘Esportif’ with Saatchi and Saatchi.
At the same time, he would regularly cover live sporting events as a broadcaster and analyst. But his SA Rugby days weren’t numbered just yet!
The Comeback King
Bob Skinstad made an astonishing comeback in 2007, amidst much controversy – and made it onto the 2007 World Cup squad, captaining one of the games along the path to victory that year.
Since then, he has successfully invested in hotels and restaurants, worked in corporate big business and given talks and presentations to brands about the value and function of team culture.
Today, his goal is to bring The 80/20 Mindset to a new generation of ambitious Millennials that want to get ahead in their careers and change their fields for the better.
He has teamed up with Richard Koch, author of The 80/20 Principle during the 20th Anniversary of the book’s release.
His aim is to help career-stalled Millennials navigate the unstable and ever-changing modern workplace using the 80/20 rule in day-to-day business.
As a dynamic speaker, Bob has a vision – to bring the 80/20 Mindset to brands in search of engaging corporate e-learning experiences that will inspire and energize their employees.
This will be achieved with a motivational speaking event that leads into each individual completing the e-course in their own time, for personal and professional benefit.
Richard Koch is an investor, speaker, entrepreneur and author of more than 20 business books, including The 80/20 Principle, which was named one of the top 25 business books of all time by GQ Magazine and has sold over a million copies worldwide.
Bob and Richard teamed up in 2017 to create the first ever official 80/20 e-course for a new generation of success-orientated Millennials.
